breed was born by the incredible affection that King Charles II
of England had for her. A King Dog, was also the darling of many
cuts, such as Queen Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots.
History of King Charles Spaniel
Developed in England from the sixteenth century, the King
Charles Spaniel, also called "English Toy Spaniel", is a very
ancient breed. Their ancestors are much more distant, from Asia,
akin to Asian spaniels that were brought from the East to the
West, probably from Japan and China to Spain, and from Spain to
Britain, where he became known. It is believed that English
spaniels Cocker spaniels hunters like English Springer Spaniels
and may have had influence on the breed. Over time Asian dogs
short snout, like the Pug and Pekingese, eventually mixed with
Charles King who had their small size and shortened muzzle.
Because of these differences between the current King Charles
and the old, the breed ended up being split in two from the
twentieth century, the King Charles Spaniel and the Cavalier
King Charles Spaniel and the Cavalier King Charles has a body
type closer to the ancestors of the breed and the King Charles
is already more modified depending on the establishment and
time.
